The Mobile Online Learning Interactive (moLLi kit) represents a groundbreaking advancement in smart mobile learning hardware, encompassing a digital library, mobile wireless projector, 10 tablets, and a foldable-portable solar panel with a power backup system. Presently, WASLE has deployed two moLLi kits, effectively serving the entire Wajir community and local schools, overcoming challenges associated with internet connectivity. To meet the growing demand for quality education, WASLE seeks additional moLLi kits to scale its impact and reach more learners. The expansion of this innovative solution underscores WASLE’s commitment to providing accessible and equitable education, aiming to empower students and foster the comprehensive development of the Wajir region.

WASLE envisions the establishment of a community library space in Wajir, fostering a hub of knowledge accessible to all. The proposed library aims to provide free access to the extensive resources available in the digital library, offering a valuable learning environment for community members. The plan includes furnishing the space with 40 library chairs, 15 library tables, and two metallic portable cabinets, creating a welcoming and conducive setting for individuals of all ages to engage with educational materials. This initiative reflects WASLE’s commitment to democratizing access to information, promoting literacy, and cultivating a culture of learning within the Wajir community. Through the provision of essential furniture and resources, WASLE strives to contribute to the educational enrichment of the region, empowering individuals with the tools they need for personal and collective growth.

To sustain the operations of the iLearn Center community library, WASLE recognizes the importance of a solar backup system to alleviate electricity costs. The proposed system comprises four 200AH gel batteries, six 475 Watts solar panels, one 5KVA/48V Solar Inverter, and associated fittings. By implementing this solar solution, WASLE aims to harness renewable energy, reducing the environmental impact while ensuring a reliable and cost-effective power source for the community library. This initiative aligns with WASLE’s commitment to sustainable practices and underscores their dedication to creating a resourceful and accessible learning environment in Wajir.

In a collaborative effort, WASLE has joined forces with A.I.C Wajir to revitalize and inaugurate an iLearn Centre—a distinctive digital library distinguished by its absence of physical books, featuring an extensive collection of digital resources for the entire community. Housed within an existing structure provided by A.I.C Wajir, the old library building requires essential renovations, encompassing ceiling installation and partitioning, enhanced security measures, proper ventilation, electrical wiring and fittings, as well as painting and furnishing. This ambitious project seeks substantial support to bring this vision to fruition, ensuring that the iLearn Centre becomes a vibrant hub for digital learning and resource accessibility in Wajir.

Members of the WASLE Community Based Organization are dedicated volunteers who generously contribute their time, skills, and resources to extend the benefits of smart mobile learning to learners in villages and schools. This commitment demands personal sacrifice, unwavering dedication, and the utilization of personal resources to sustain the charitable educational operations. Acknowledging the challenges inherent in this endeavor, WASLE welcomes and deeply appreciates any support directed towards assisting these volunteers with essential needs such as transport, food, and sustenance.
